Last night three friends marched through my front door carrying boxes of maternity clothes, diapers, a pregnancy book, and lots of good advice & stories (not to mention good company). I got some really cute clothes for work and weekend, which I needed direly. I can't wait until I have a chance to sort through them more thoroughly.
Everytime I'm around my mama friends I learn something new about pregnancy, childbirth, and/or childcare. I feel very lucky that I have such a caring and knowledgeable support system at this stage in my life.
I'm feeling really great now. I have actually gone three days without barfing, which is indeed a record for me! I haven't had any other heartburn attacks, either. I definitely have a lot more energy, so it's time to start working on that nursery now, I suppose. Sure do wish I knew the baby's gender. I doubt I'll find out before June.

I didn't want to toot my own horn but the first trimester was my FAVORITE. I never had morning sickness, the cursed heartburn had not yet reared its ugly head and water retention was still 2 trimesters away. I felt *wonderful*, it was like a natural daily high that I savored.
I didn't start really showing at all until my 5th month but I adored wearing maternity clothes even before that. Something about that "Motherhood Maternity" label sewn into the back of the collar made me feel special. In fact, the entire process made me feel blessed. There are parts you will absolutely loathe but there are parts you will love in a way you didn't even know was possible. :)
I'm glad you like your gifts. Just wait til the shower!!
What wonderful friends you have, Lucy. That is such a wonderful blessing in itself. I love you, have fun trying on all those clothes......
