Calla-isms

The things she says just crack me up sometimes. It's so cute!

Some examples I want to remember:

Wear [item of clothing] on (wear)
"Calla wear Beatle shirt on"
"Gram wear glasses on"
"I wear big girl 'pentees' on"

Holdja (hold or pick up)
"Mommy holdja" (Pick me up)
"Mommy holdja dolly" (Hold my dolly)

"Thank you ... Much!" (Thank you [very] much.)

Where [person or thing] go
"Where Mommy go?"
"Where Calla water go?"

"There is!" (There it is!)

"Hard do 'dat!" (Hard to do that)

"Calla have it!" (I got it! or I want it!)

"I need all done!" (I want to leave the table table.)

"I need Mommy all done!" (I want Mommy to leave the table.)

I am Mom

"Mom!" It just sounds strange coming out of my twenty-one month old's mouth. I've been "Mama" and "Mommy" for months. I wasn't expecting "Mom" until Calla is closer to tween age, or at least school age!

Nonetheless, I've been called "Mom" all week now, so I guess it's not a fluke. I guess it's going to stick. I guess I'm "Mom" already.

POTD: Sprinkler

We came back from the lake today, but Calla hasn't had enough of the
water yet. She begged to put on a swimsuit, then announced, "I go
lake!"

The best we could do was a sprinkler.

Play Doh Time

Overheard during father-daughter play doh time:

"That's nice, Calla. Did you make a big, green blob?"

"Yeah!"

"Is it a motorcycle?"

"No!"

"Is it a bus?"

"Nope."

"What is it then?"

"It's play-doh!!!"

This from the girl who usually just pinches off pieces of play-doh and announces, "Oh! It's a fishie!" etc.
