I am Mom

"Mom!" It just sounds strange coming out of my twenty-one month old's mouth. I've been "Mama" and "Mommy" for months. I wasn't expecting "Mom" until Calla is closer to tween age, or at least school age!

Nonetheless, I've been called "Mom" all week now, so I guess it's not a fluke. I guess it's going to stick. I guess I'm "Mom" already.

POTD: Sprinkler

We came back from the lake today, but Calla hasn't had enough of the
water yet. She begged to put on a swimsuit, then announced, "I go
lake!"

The best we could do was a sprinkler.

Play Doh Time

Overheard during father-daughter play doh time:

"That's nice, Calla. Did you make a big, green blob?"

"Yeah!"

"Is it a motorcycle?"

"No!"

"Is it a bus?"

"Nope."

"What is it then?"

"It's play-doh!!!"

This from the girl who usually just pinches off pieces of play-doh and announces, "Oh! It's a fishie!" etc.

Calla insists on wearing her moustache to the museum today.

Elephant in the Driveway!

I heard Bill's car pulling into the carport while Calla and I were playing in the playroom, so I asked Calla, "Did you hear that sound?"

She nodded her head.

"What was that noise, Calla?"

She looked at me, dead serious, and said, "Elephant."
